40 اقوالِ رسولؐ
حضرت خلیفۃُ المسیح الخامس ایدہ اللہ تعالیٰ سے سویڈن کے ایک خادم نے سوال کیا کہ
کیا بچپن یا جوانی کے دوران (حضور کے) کوئی ایسے استاد، مربّی یارہنما تھے جن سے حضور انور کو خاص طور پر دینی علم حاصل ہوا ہو۔
تو حضور پُرنور نے فرمایا:
” ہمارا سارا ماحول ہی استاد تھا “
حضور نے جس ماحول کی اِس جُملہ میں نشان دہی فرمائی اُسی ماحول میں خاکسار بھی بحیثیت طفل اور خادم نشوونما پا رہا تھا اور واقعتاً ہمارا ربوہ کا ماحول ایک شفیق استاد سے کم نہ تھا۔ اِس دینی، روحانی، اخلاقی اور علمی ماحول میں مختلف چھوٹی چھوٹی کتب بطور استاد ہمارے ساتھ رہتی تھیں یا یوں کہہ لیں ہم اِن اساتذہ کے ساتھ رہ کر اِن سے کسبِ علم کرتے اور تربیت کا فیض پاتے تھے۔ اِن کتب میں سے چند ورقہ ایک کتابچہ حضرت سیّد میر محمد اسحاق صاحب رضی اللہ عنہ کی مرتّبہ” چہل احادیث“بھی تھی۔ جس میں درج 40احادیث کو ہم گھروں میں اور اجلاسات میں حفظ کرتے تھے۔ جوں جوں جوانی کی سیڑھی پرقدم رکھا تو احادیث کے مختصر مجموعے پڑھنے کو ملے ۔جن میں:
اوّل ۔اربعین اطفال از حضرت میر محمد اسماعیل صاحب رضی اللہ عنہ
دوم۔ چالیس جواہر پارے از حضرت صاحبزادہ مرزا بشیر احمد صاحب رضی اللہ عنہ
سوم ۔ منتخب احادیث از نشر واشاعت قادیان
چہارم۔احادیث الاخلاق از استاذی المحترم مولانا غلام باری سیف صاحب مرحوم
جامعہ احمدیہ کی تدریس سے قبل جوانی میں اَور بہت سی احادیث کی کتب پڑھنے اور اِن میں درج اقوالِ.رسولؐ کو اپنے وجود میں اُتارنے کی کوشش کی۔ بالخصوص ایسی کتب میں درج احادیث کا موازنہ کرنے کی توفیق پائی جو چالیس، چہل کے نام سے ملتی تھیں اور ان بزرگوں کو رشک کی نگاہ سے دیکھتا رہا جنہوں نے حضرت رسول پاک صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ذیل کےارشادات کے تحت نہ صرف جنت میں جگہ بنائی بلکہ آپؐ کی شفاعت لینے کے بھی موجب بنے۔ حضورؐ فرماتے ہیں:
مَنْ تَرَكَ أَرْبَعِينَ حَدِيثًا بَعْدَ مَوْتِهٖ فَھُوَ رَفِيقِيْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ
کہ جس نے اپنے مرنے کے بعد 40 حدیثیں چھوڑیں وہ جنت میں میرا ساتھی ہوگا۔
پھر فرمایا:
مَنْ حَفِظَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي أَرْبَعِينَ حَدِيثًا مِنْ أَمْرِ دِينِهَا، بَعَثَهُ اللّٰهُ فَقِیْھاً کُنْتُ لَہٗ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شَافِعًا وَّشَهِيْدًا
کہ جو شخص میری امت کی اصلاح اور بہبودی کی غرض سے میری (کم از کم) 40حدیثیں محفوظ کرے گا اللہ تعالیٰ اسے قیامت کے دن ایک عَالِم دین اور فقیہ کی صورت میں کھڑا کرے گا اَور مَیں اس کے لیے خدا کے حضور شفاعت کرنے والا اور اس کے ایمان کا گواہ ہوں گا۔
بعض محدّثین نے محوّلہ بالا حدیث کے الفاظ” مَنْ حَفِظَ “کے یہ معنی کئے ہیں کہ جو شخص میری امت کو دین سمجھانے کے لیے 40حدیثیں یاد کرے گا۔اللہ تعالیٰ اُسے قیامت کے دن فقہاء میں سے اُٹھائے گا اور مَیں اُس کی شفاعت کروں گا اور اُس کے حق میں گواہی دوں گا۔
خاکسار کو اللہ میاں نے 700 احکام خداوندی کو یکجا کرنے کی توفیق دی ۔ بعد ازاں مامورِ زمانہ حضرت مسیح.موعود علیہ السلام اور آپؑ کے خلفاء کے مختلف عناوین پر ارشادات جمع کرنے کی سعادت پائی تو ایک خلش دل میں باقی رہی کہ آقا ومولیٰ حضرت محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی احادیث کو جمع نہیں کر پایا۔اُدھر آنحضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مندرجہ بالا ارشادات میں درج یہ لالچ چین سے نہ بیٹھنے دیتا رہا کہ
1۔ مرنے کے بعد 40 احادیث کا مجموعہ چھوڑنے والے کو آنحضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی رفاقت نصیب ہوگی۔ حدیث میں آتا ہے: اَلمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ کہ آدمی اس کے ساتھ ہوتا ہے جس سے وہ محبت کرتاہو۔
2۔ جو شخص 40 احادیث کو یاد کرے گا یا 40 احادیث کو(کتابی شکل میں) محفوظ کرے گا ۔اُس کے حق میں آنحضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم شفاعت کریں گے اور اُس کے حق میں گواہی دیں گے۔
کہتے ہیں کہ لالچ بُری بلا ہے لیکن نیکی کمانے اور نیکی کے میدان میں آگے بڑھنے کی حرص اچھی اور مبارک بات ہے۔ بالخصوص جب جنّت میں آنحضورؐ کی رفاقت ملنے والی ہو۔ حضورؐ کی شفاعت سامنے نظر آرہی ہو اور حضورؐ حقیر بندے کے حق میں گواہی بھی دینے والے ہوں۔
ان انعاماتِ خداوندی کے حصول کے لیے خاکسار بھی چند مختصر 40 اقوالِ رسولؐ کو ذیل میں جمع کرنے جا رہا ہے۔ اِن اقوال کو جمع کرنے میں آج کے دَور میں موجود قباحتوں اور بُرائیوں کا سدّباب مدّنظر ہے اور اِسی مناسبت سے یہ 40 اقوالِ رسول کو جگہ دی ہے۔ ممکن ہے اِس مجموعۂ احادیث میں سے کچھ بزرگانِ بالا کی مرتّب کردہ کتب سے لی گئی ہوں۔ فجزاہم اللّٰہ تعالیٰ خیرًا
اللہ تعالیٰ میری اس حقیر کاوش کو شرفِ عزّت اور سندِ قبولیت عطا فرمائے، جو میرے لئے رسولِ خدا کی رفاقت اور شفاعت کا موجب ہو اور اس مجموعہ سے فائدہ اٹھانے والوں کے لیے فضل، رحمت، برکت اور مغفرت کا موجب بنائے۔آمین
مَیں اپنے اِس مجموعہ کو” مشاہدات “کے لیے خدمت، اِس کی اشاعت کرنے والوں نیز اِس سے استفادہ کرنے والوں کے نام مُعَنْوَنْ کرتا ہوں۔ اس مسوّدہ کو کمپوزنگ کرنے میں مکرم منہاس محمود آف جرمنی اور مکرم زاہد محمود نے ساتھ دیا۔ انگلش ترجمہ میں مکرم وقّار احمد بھٹی آف برلن جرمنی نے معاونت فرمائی جبکہ اِسے کتابی شکل دینے میں مکرم زاہد محمود، ویب سائیٹ کی زینت بنانے میں مکرم سعید الدین احمد آف یوکے اور مکرم عامر محمود آف شیفیلڈ برطانیہ نے تعاون فرمایا۔ فالحمدللّٰہ ربّ العالمین، جزاھم اللّٰہ تعالیٰ خیرًا کثیرًا فی ھٰذِہِ الدّنیا والآخرۃِ۔ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلۡ مِنَّا ؕ اِنَّکَ اَنۡتَ السَّمِیۡعُ الۡعَلِیۡمُ

ﷺ 40Sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad
A Khadim from Sweden asked Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V, may Allah be his Helper, whether during his youth there had been any particular teacher, mentor, or spiritual guide from whom he sought religious knowledge in a special way. His Holiness replied
“Our entire environment served as a teacher”
The environment Huzur e Anwer mentioned, I myself was brought up in the same environment as a Tifal and Khadim and our environment was like a kind teacher for us.
In this religious, spiritual, moral, and scholarly environment we enjoyed company of various small books which served as teachers for our nurturing.
Among these books was a small booklet, 40 Ahadith, compiled by Hazrat Mir Muhammad Ishaq, may Allah be pleased with him. The 40 sayings contained in it were memorized in Ahmadiyya homes and gatherings. As we step forwarded into youth we encountered other short collections of Hadith namely, Arba’in Atfal by Hazrat Mir Muhammad Ismail, may Allah be pleased with him, Forty Gems of Beauty by Hazrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad, may Allah be pleased with him; Selected Ahadith published by the publication department Qadian and Ahadith ul Akhlaq by my respected teacher Maulana Ghulam Bari Saif (late).
Before getting education in Jamia Ahmadiyya, in youth I tried a lot to read several other books of Ahadith and to find out ways to their practical approach in daily life. Most importantly I was blessed to make some comparisons between those Ahadith mentioned in the above booklet 40 Ahadith and look at these highly respectable elderly people with esteemed admiration who not only secured their place in Heaven but also became eligible for the intersession of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The holy prophet (peace be upon him) said
مَنْ تَرَكَ أَرْبَعِينَ حَدِيثًا بَعْدَ مَوْتِهٖ فَھُوَ رَفِيقِيْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ
Whosoever left behind 40 Ahadith after his death, he will be my companion in heaven.
The holy prophet also said
مَنْ حَفِظَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي أَرْبَعِينَ حَدِيثًا مِنْ أَمْرِ دِينِهَا، بَعَثَهُ اللّٰهُ فَقِیْھاً کُنْتُ لَہٗ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شَافِعًا وَّشَهِيْدًا
whoever preserves 40 Hadith for the benefit of the Muslim community, Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection as a religious scholar and jurist, and I will be his intercessor and witness (of his faith).
A few Muhadithin elaborated the words مَنْ حَفِظَ of this Hadith above as whosoever will learn by heart 40 Ahadith for the welfare and better understanding of religion, Allah will raise him on the day of resurrection as learned scholar and jurist and the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) will be his intercessor and witness (of his faith).
Almighty Allah gave me strength to compile 700 Divine injunctions, later I had the blessed opportunity to compile the saying of the Promised Messiah and Khulafa under variant topics still I had a regret in my heart that I could not compile the saying of the holy prophet (peace be upon him) so far. On the other hand the above mentioned saying of the Holy Prophet kept on increasing a craving inside me that
- One who will leave a compilation of 40 Ahadith after his death, will be honoured to have his blessed company in the hereafter. A Hadith narrates اَلمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ that a man will enjoy the company of his beloved (in the hereafter).
- Whosoever will memorize 40 Ahadith or compile them (in a book), the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) will be his intercessor and witness (of his faith).
It is said that greed is a curse but the spirit to compete in gaining virtue is good and blessed idea, especially when resulting in becoming companion of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).
In order to gain these blessings of Almighty Allah I am compiling short 40 saying of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The idea behind this compilation is to get rid of various evils and vices of this modern era. This compilation of 40 Ahadis is with compliance to this idea. It is also possible that some of these forty Ahadis might be taken from the books of afore said respected elders. (May Allah bless them immensely).
May Allah accept my humble effort which result in the intersession and company of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and make it a source of blessings, mercy and forgiveness for those who may get benefit from it. Aamin
I dedicate this compilation to those who serve, help me publish and beneficiaries of Mushahidat.
